About the Author

Helping others see the unity of Scripture and its fulfillment in Christ.

D.J. Dickerson is a minister and Bible teacher with a deep passion for helping others understand the unity and depth of God's Word. Through preaching, writing, and teaching, he seeks to show how the message of Scripture-from Genesis to Revelation-finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

Serving with the church of Christ in La Porte, Texas, D.J. is committed to encouraging careful Bible study and strengthening faith through clear biblical teaching. Shadows to Substance grew out of a series of lessons he preached exploring how the events, symbols, and promises of the Old Testament point forward to Christ. The book includes study charts and reflection questions designed to help readers immerse themselves more deeply in personal study of the Scriptures.

In addition to his ministry work, D.J. has served in public service for more than two decades as both an EMT and a Texas peace officer, and currently serves as an Investigator with the 123rd Judicial District Attorney's Office.

D.J. and his wife, Kensi, are grateful parents to their children Ayden, Jaxon, and Emily, and are thankful for the encouragement and fellowship of their church family as they continue serving the Lord together.
